Featured Mentorship: Anniyah & Taryn.

Mentoring times: Monday through Thursday, 6-8pm; Saturday and Sunday afternoons, 12-6pm

Commitment: 90 minutes per week for six months; scheduling is worked out directly with the mentee once a match is made


  1. Strong writing skills
  2. Strong listening and communication skills when working with young people
  3. Sincere desire to create a relationship with a young person and help him or her work on personal and academic goals, including working toward the completion of one writing project per month
  4. A short, unpublished writing sample (please provide this in the space below)

Training: New mentors are required to attend an introductory interview with our mentorship coordinator. Orientation sessions are held throughout the year. To contact our staff about becoming a mentor, complete and submit the form below.
