Letters to a Young Black Girl
With Black culture writer and editor, Zahara Hill, girls will explore self-love, #BlackGirlMagic, and Black women in pop culture and history. As we go, we'll create art and write letters to ourselves, other Black girls/women--even letters to our hair!
Parents come and spend a few hours in educational fun with your toddlers and preschoolers. This weekly play session teaches early literacy skills. Mighty Toddlers have an amazing time sharing and creating stories while preparing for kindergarten.
Need some help with homework? Want to strengthen writing skills? Mighty Writers to the rescue! Sign up or drop-in to work one-on-one or in small groups with a Mighty volunteer. Whatever your writing and homework needs are, be sure to bring them to us!
Mighty Writers knows just how critical it is for kids to read on grade level by 4th grade. Kids in this program will read with an adult each week to strengthen literacy skills, journal, and develop a love of reading.
Young Men Rising
We'll discuss issues that are real to us. Whether it's Meek Mill or mass incarceration, gaming or relationships, sports or success, we'll cover it all while charting a path towards positive manhood. Final session: Sound off in our open mic! Pizza served.
Mindfulness for Adults
Volunteers, parents/guardians come together to learn mindfulness tools, strategies & activities! Learn ways to teach youth to relax & feel centered all while helping navigate their creativity, emotional intelligence & confidence!
Middle School Academy Orientation
This orientation provides information about our after school program for grades 6-8 helps youth develop proficient/advanced writing skills. We'll complete writing projects, build community, and have fun along the way! Application is required.
The World Is on Fire
Act now to change the world! At MW, we believe in learning climate science so that we can make a difference for ourselves, our community and our planet. We'll conduct science experiments, learn about activism and spread the word about climate change.

Mighty Teen Scholars 2019-20
We read literature that is not seen in schools. Our reading & writing leads to thought-provoking discussions about issues effecting us & our community. We write persuasive & informative essays, creative fiction! College trips TBD. We are now waitlisting.
