Gender for Kids
Through books and active games, children will learn to go beyond stereotypical ideas about gender. We'll read books like "Pink is for Boys" and "Jamie is Jamie" and talk about gender in child-friendly ways. Children will journal their reflections.
Who Runs the World? Girls!
Society attempts to leave girls weak, guarded and voiceless. Through readings, writing, team-building, and dialogue about boundaries, body image, and cultural messaging, girls will develop their compassionate and empowered voices. We'll share meals, too!
Get Published, Teens!
This program is for teens who love to write and want to see their work in print. With the help of professional writers as coaches, we'll write, revise, and submit our work to publications and competitions that feature teen writing.
Mighty Writers knows just how critical it is for kids to read on grade level by 4th grade. Kids in this program will read one-on-one with an adult each week to strengthen literacy skills and develop a love of reading.
Young Greedy Readers
