Did You Know Most of Our Students Have Never Left Their Zip Code?
Many of the kids we serve live in underserved communities where their entire world is confined to a very small radius.
Without exposure, their world stays small. And when the world stays small, so do the possibilities these kids can see for themselves.
Our Vision
At Mighty Writers, we want to break that cycle. We believe our kids deserve an opportunity to broaden their horizons and see the world beyond their zip code.
This spring, we're making that happen through experiential learning:
- college visits
- museum trips
- workplace tours
- hands-on workshops that show our students what's possible.
For many of them, these will be firsts.
Will you help make those moments possible?
This Spring, Your Gift Opens Doors
$50 — covers transportation for one student to a new experience
$100 — supports admission and learning materials for a trip
$250 — funds a full experiential outing for one student
$500+ — expands access for an entire group so no one gets left behind
Every dollar brings a child one step closer to seeing that the world is bigger than their block and that they belong in it.
My students deserve the right to dream and see themselves in arts, science, politics, and media. My job is to make those dreams tangible, to give them access to museums, labs, newsrooms, and podiums. Their success is because of who they are, not in spite of it.

Our students deserve more than access. Our students deserve exposure, opportunity, and experiences that remind them the world is bigger than their zip code. That includes trips to places like the National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC, where they can connect with their history and begin to imagine themselves in powerful spaces.
